I signed into my laptop early in the morning on September 16, 2007. I had in mind to journal some thoughts that were floating in my head in my personal journal that I keep as a Word document file. When I pulled up the journal I generally expect to see the last entry date and journaling. But, instead it pulled up to "August 28, 2006", thinking that was strange I began to read. After gazing through some scripture and prayer needs that I had written about I then began to read what I had almost placed in the forgotten files of my mind......."I am about to move you, change your life, prepare yourself, I am about to move you, your family."
I recalled that day as I spent time with the Lord that He spoke very clearly to me, so clear it almost startled me! I remember calling Clint, he was at the office, and had just finished attending staff meeting. I shared with him the word and we both demized it had to mean the property we had purchased in South Carolina was going to sell. We were completely happy and satisfied where we were.
The Lord had absolutely opened a door for us in 2003 to be apart of one of the fastest growing Church of God of Prophecies in the United States. We learned so much and were able to use our talents and abilities to there fullest potential in a setting that was progressive and on fire for the advancement of the Kingdom. Being on a staff with 5 other pastors and enjoying the commonality of team work was fullfilled everyday with all the goings on of a church that size.
Clint was completely in his element as a Youth Pastor constantly staying on the edge, never settling for less than excellence.
I recall from that moment on August 28th often questioning God, "Why would you move us? We are doing everything you have called us to do." Some time after that while Clint and I sat in a service that several of the Children and Youth Drama teams were ministering in, he leaned over to me and whispered, "Where do you go after Summerville?" I gave him a mean look and said, "I am not talking about this."
The year moved on and we continued in a growing ministry, working alongside a pastor with unwavering energy and a vision that goes beyond the average. Then at the end of the Summer we got the call from Bro. Jones concerning Hackleburg. Could this be it? We thought, "Is this what God was doing?" Shortly after several confirmations, fasting and prayer we knew God had clearly prepared us to go back into Senior Pastoring.
Clint shared with me what happened on the Sunday morning we were in service at Hackleburg for our interview. He recalls being completely enveloped by the awesome worship time and he began talking to God and saying, "Lord, I am comfortable where I am. I know my boundries there. I am busy working for you in the Kingdom." After another worship song, still worshipping, he heard someone call his name. Out of the corner of his eye he knew Bishop Jones and Sis. Jones were sitting right behind him, so he paused for a moment thinking Bishop Jones tried to get his attention. Then he heard his name again. Realizing it was the Father, Clint listened as He began to speak to him. He said, "Son, I have not called you to be comfortable, I have called you to minister."
Right then he knew we were to move 'home' to Alabama, to expand His Kingdom, to grow a church, to build a church, to impact lives one person at a time.
